About Le’olam Vaed/לעולם ועד
Le’olam Vaed is a blog dedicated to the study of the halacha of scifi, fantasy, and other spec fiction. Have you ever wondered what a religious Jew would need to do on the Star ship Enterprise? Or the Moss Eisley spaceport? Are some of Harry Potter’s spells forbidden to a Jewish wizard? If so, this is the blog for you.
Le’olam Vaed is the product of 3 people:
Rb. Captain Ari Elias-Bachrach is the founder and editor in chief. He received smicha from yeshiva Keter HaTorah and was previously the content director for Sefaria. He has been a lifelong scifi and Star trek fan. His main claim to fame is having what is believed to be the world’s first Klingon ketubah.
